Registration Day
August Band Registration Day
Band Registration is a "one stop-shopping day" where we take care of as many organizational details as possible. The list of things that are handled on registration day includes, but is not limited to...
* Update contact information in the Charms database student profile
* Complete permission forms, medical insurance information, UIL Acknowledgement forms
* Assign instrument lockers and padlock
* Assign school instruments and pay KISD instrument usage fees
* Size and assign marching uniforms
* Purchase required items (marching shoes, gloves, shirts, shorts, lyre, color guard equipment)
* Purchase optional items (garment bag, yard sign, spirit items, personal ad for football program, All-State audition books, family dinner tickets, instrument accessories)
* Sign up for Flag with Pride fundraiser, private lessons, volunteer committees
* Pay fees
It is extremely important that you are here on Registration Day. Every student who is not represented on that day will cause hours and hours of extra time on the part of the directors to track down forms, issue uniforms and locks, order required purchases, and receive fees.
The group photo for the football program and the yearbook will be taken in early August. If your student does not make arrangements to be here on registration day to be sized for a uniform then they will not get a uniform in time to be included in the group photo.
Please be prepared to write two separate checks - one for Band Fees (tax deductible) and one for purchase of accessories (not tax deductible).
It's a busy day! You should plan on spending 60-90 minutes to accomplish everything that needs to be done.

Band Fees
Band Fees make up the majority of the KOBA budget and enable KOBA to operate throughout the year. Band fees cover expenses not already paid for by Klein ISD such as:
* marching drill
* marching show musical arrangement
* marching show expenses
* auxilary marching band staff
* year round color guard staff
* winter guard show design
* winter guard transportation
* band banquet
* band clinicians
* master class/sectional leaders
* concert expenses
* KISD ensemble entry fees
* KO Band Concerto Competition expenses
* bus transportation to non-UIL events
* uniform final cleaning
* social activities
* refreshments for all students
* meals for extended competition days
* scholarships
* yearbook ad
* ice machine maintenance
* poster and other office expenses
This is a "fair share" payment that spreads the financial burden across the entire band family. KOBA will be unable to provide these items if Band Fees are not paid. If finances are an issue, we have fundraising opportunities that you can take advantage of to offset the cost.
